The mission of the New Mexico School Counselor Association is to promote excellence in the profession of school counseling and the development of all students. 


We are excited to announce that NMSCA will be hosting a variety of mini-PDs throughout the year.  Two have been announced for spring:

Mediation: Practicing the Art and Dance of Effective Communication

March 14th, 10:00am-11:30am

Anxiety in Our Students

presented by Zachary Craig

April 23, 2024 10:00am-11:30am

Members can receive CE hours for these PDs for free.  Non-member are welcome to attend but will be charged a fee.

School Counseling Standards

Four sets of school counseling standards define the school counseling profession. These standards help school counselors develop, implement and assess their school counseling program to improve student outcomes.

NMSCA is committed to supporting school counselors. 

Partnering with the American School Counselor Association, NMSCA is the state level school counselor organization.  

We offer the opportunity for school counselors to grow professionally, learn about best practices specific to New Mexico, and encourage school counselors to get involved at the local or state level or as a NMSCA Board Member.
